Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

So, I'm heading to Hung Hom next week, buzzing to explore it properly. I've heard whispers about these amazing little alleyways tucked away from the main streets, full of local eateries and hidden sh… more

Get a local SIM card. Seriously. Navigation apps are your friend, but even Google Maps can miss those tiny lanes. Wander around the area near the Hung Hom MTR station – that's usually where a lot of these smaller streets branch off. Don't be afraid to just go exploring, but keep an eye on your surroundings. And if you're worried about getting lost, take lots of pictures of street signs or landmarks. That'll help you retrace your steps if needed. It's all part of the adventure! Plus, you’ll discover things you wouldn't find on any map.

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
