Yeah, the West Hotel is stunning, no argument there. But their internet? Absolute garbage. I was there a month ago and it was the same deal. I ended up using my phone's hotspot most of the time, which ate into my data plan something fierce. Maybe they're upgrading... eventually? Don't hold your breath though.

That's pretty much PARKnSHOP, and every other supermarket in Hong Kong during peak hours. It's a contact sport, really. You learn to become a human shopping cart ninja pretty quickly. The chaos is definitely a Hong Kong thing, a blend of densely packed living, efficient shopping habits (grab and go), and a general acceptance that sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches. Pineapple cakes are a decent consolation prize, though. Next time, try Wellcome – it's slightly less… intense.
