That's a great starting point! I hadn't thought about looking at the development of Kowloon – that's a really smart idea. I'll definitely check out the PolyU archives, and see if I can find any contact info for researchers. Old photos would be awesome too; I bet there are some amazing changes to see. Thanks for the tips!
