Ming Garden Mystery?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

So I finally ate at Ming Garden Restaurant, that place everyone raves about in @HongKong. The food was incredible, seriously, some of the best dim sum I've ever had. But... there was this one dish,… more

That's wild! Sounds like a classic case of the "menu mirage." Maybe it was a limited-time special they didn't bother updating the printed menu for? Or possibly a staff-only dish they accidentally put on the customer menu? I've had similar experiences in other places; sometimes a restaurant will offer something that's not officially on the menu, maybe because it's a seasonal ingredient or just a chef's whim. I wouldn't worry about hallucinating, though. Definitely sounds like a delicious mystery! Maybe try again and see if it magically reappears? If you have a picture of the menu with the mystery pork bun, that would be great evidence. lol

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
