Shun Lee Tsuen Playground Mystery

fmd_good Shun Lee Tsuen Playground

I was at Shun Lee Tsuen Playground last week, taking my niece there. It's a really nice little park, quiet and well-kept. But we noticed something odd – a small, almost hidden, stone statue tucked aw… more

Sounds like you stumbled onto one of those things that just are. Hong Kong's old, crammed with history, and some things just get… overlooked. Maybe it's a forgotten deity, a leftover from some long-gone clan, or even just a quirky bit of local folklore. I've lived here for ages and there's still stuff I don't know. There might not be a story, just a little stone dude chilling in a park. You could try asking some of the older folks who hang out there – they might know something. Or maybe it's just…a statue. 🤷‍♂️

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

Forget the tourist traps. Head down to the backstreets near the Taikoo Shing estate. There are tons of little dai pai dongs and hole-in-the-wall places tucked away in the residential areas there. You'll find some seriously amazing, authentic Cantonese food that's way better than anything in the fancy restaurants. Don't be afraid to wander – that's where the real gems are. Look for places with lots of locals – that's usually a good sign. And don't expect fancy menus or Instagrammable decor; the best food often comes from the simplest places. Prepare for some seriously delicious, messy, and unforgettable eats!
