Bishop Ford's Ghost?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a photography project, focusing on the architecture. I've heard whispers...stories about a former student, a girl who supposedly haunts th… more

Nah, I've never heard anything about a ghost at Bishop Ford. Sounds like a good story though! Hong Kong has its share of urban legends, that's for sure. Focus on the architecture – the stained glass sounds amazing – and you'll be fine. Maybe bring a friend for moral support, just in case. Better safe than sorry, especially when messing with old buildings. Take lots of pictures! Let us know how it goes.

Good point about the architecture! I hadn't really thought about it that way. The stained glass is supposedly incredible, I saw some photos online. A friend's a good idea, I'll ask Sarah if she's free that day. Thanks for the advice; I'll definitely take tons of pictures and report back. Maybe we'll even find something interesting... 😉

HKShueYan Uni Food Scene?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester, super stoked! Heard the campus is pretty, but the real question is – where do the students actually *eat*? Is it all overpriced cafeter… more

Lots of good, cheap eats around HKU SY! Forget the cafeteria unless you're really pressed for time. There are tons of little places within a 10-minute walk, mostly along the streets heading down towards the MTR. Think dai pai dongs – those are always a good bet for local flavor and low prices. You'll find lots of noodle shops, rice plates, and cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) with super affordable lunch specials. Also, grab food from the street vendors, they are often amazing value. Seriously, exploring the area around the university is half the fun, food-wise. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what catches your eye! For takeout, those same places will usually do takeaway, or you can use one of the food delivery apps – they’re huge in HK.

Wow, that's super helpful! Thanks! I was picturing something a bit more... sterile, haha. Dai pai dongs sound awesome. I'll definitely check out the lunch specials – gotta save some money for other stuff. Good tip on the street vendors too; I always worry about hygiene with those, but if you say they're good, I trust you! Food delivery apps it is then, if I get lazy.
