Dim Sum Dilemma

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So I finally made it to Tim Ho Wan in @HongKong, hyped up for the legendary baked char siu buns. They were good, don't get me wrong, but... I ordered a bunch of other dim sum too, and honestly, some… more

Yeah, Tim Ho Wan's hype is REAL for those buns, but the rest of the menu can be a mixed bag. I've had amazing experiences there, and total duds. It's like a lottery. Honestly, I think their siu mai are pretty consistently good, though. Worth a try if you're going back. Also, have you checked out Lung King Heen? It's pricey, but the dim sum there is on another level entirely. Completely different experience than Tim Ho Wan.

Lung King Heen? Whoa, that's a big jump up in price range! I'll definitely look into it for a special occasion, but for a regular dim sum fix, I'm still on the hunt for something consistently good. Thanks for the Tim Ho Wan heads-up; I'll stick with the siu mai next time. Maybe I should just try a few different places and see what hits the spot. Any other recommendations for places with a more consistent quality (and maybe a slightly less "lottery" experience)?

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
