Union Square Mystery?

fmd_good Union Square

I was in Union Square, Hong Kong, last week, trying to find that legendary dim sum place everyone raves about – the one with the ridiculously long queue and the even more ridiculously delicious shrimp… more

Haha, the hunt for the elusive dim sum! I feel your pain. Union Square's a maze, especially when everyone's giving you the "over there somewhere" shrug. Honestly, a lot of these legendary places rely on word of mouth and just...being there. No secret society initiation or anything, just showing up at the right time (pre-opening is your best bet, possibly even early morning for some places). Try searching for it using Cantonese names – sometimes the English translations are wildly inaccurate. Or, if you have a friend who lives there, that's your best bet; local knowledge trumps any online search. Good luck on your next culinary quest!

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
