Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm heading to Hung Hom next month, planning a solo trip. I’ve read about its bustling atmosphere and the amazing street food, but I'm curious about the smaller, less-touristy streets. Are there any… more

Yeah, Hung Hom's got some cool stuff tucked away. Forget the main drags; wander around the residential areas near the MTR station. You'll find little alleys packed with local life – old-school dai pai dongs (if you're lucky, some still open!), tiny shops selling everything from dried seafood to tailor-made clothes. It's not all Instagram-worthy, but that's the point, right? It's real. Just get lost a bit – that’s how you find the good stuff. Don't be afraid to just poke your head into places, even if you don’t understand what’s going on. You might even stumble onto some amazing hole-in-the-wall food stalls, the kind that only locals know about. And honestly, the best tea houses aren't always flashy. Look for places that seem busy with locals, not tourists.

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
