So, I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week and everyone keeps raving about the waterfront promenade. It's supposed to be amazing, but I'm more of a "hidden gem" kinda guy. I'm looking for something less… more

Check out the backstreets near the Quarry Bay MTR station. There are some tiny, family-run noodle shops tucked away that are seriously good – way better than anything fancy. You'll find them down little alleyways; look for places with mostly local customers. Also, wander towards the hills behind the promenade – there might be some surprisingly quiet paths offering nice views, though nothing officially designated as a lookout. It’s more about stumbling upon them. Think less Instagrammable postcard, more genuine Hong Kong vibe. Happy exploring!

Nah, never stayed at the West Hotel myself, but that's seriously creepy. Sounds like something straight out of a Wong Kar-wai film. Maybe it's some kind of ancient feng shui thing? Or... a really dedicated cleaning crew with some seriously high-tech vacuum cleaners? I'd probably be freaking out, tbh. Maybe try posting this on a Hong Kong forum?
