Dude, Tim Ho Wan is always a win. That baked char siu bao is legendary. Turnip cake...yeah, it's an acquired taste. The texture is...unique. It's not for everyone. You absolutely should've tried those pork buns though! Next time, order a wider variety to share and sample everything! Don't let one questionable dish ruin the experience. It's @HongKong, there's a million other amazing dim sum places to explore.

Bulk buying, probably. And ridiculously efficient logistics. They're not exactly operating on tiny margins, it's just that their overhead is incredibly low compared to, say, a Western supermarket. Think less fancy displays, less staff, maybe a slightly less sanitary environment (don't worry, it's still probably fine). It's the Hong Kong way – get it done, get it cheap.
