Wow, thanks! That's incredibly helpful, I hadn't even considered the university archives or the local historical society. The Hong Kong Heritage Museum sounds like a great starting point too. I figured individual stories would be tough to track down, but I was hoping for at least some broader context on the tong lau's history. I appreciate the tips – this gives me a really good place to begin my research. Fingers crossed I find something interesting!
