PolyU Campus Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next week for a conference. Heard the campus food scene is legendary...but also a bit of a maze. Anyone got tips on navigating the food courts a… more

PolyU's food scene is pretty sprawling, yeah. Forget a map, it's more like a culinary adventure. The main canteen areas are generally reliable – decent variety, usually something to suit most tastes. Check out the ones near the main entrances; less wandering involved. If you’re short on time, aim for those. Don't be afraid to just grab something quickly and head back to the conference. You'll find better options than instant noodles, trust me. There are also smaller cafes dotted around – keep your eyes peeled, some have surprisingly good coffee. It's a big campus, so just allow a bit of extra time to explore if you really want to find something special. But honestly, the main canteens are a safe bet.

Hung Hom Bay Views?

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I'm heading to Hung Hom next month, planning a long weekend. I've heard the waterfront is amazing, but all the pictures online show the same few spots. Any recommendations for lesser-known viewp… more

Check out the area around the old ferry piers near Hung Hom Promenade. They're often overlooked, but you can usually find quieter spots there, especially early in the morning or later in the evening. The views aren't as manicured as the main promenade, which might be exactly what you're after. Also, wander a bit north towards the Tsing Yi Bridge – the approach to it offers some interesting perspectives, and it's less crowded than the areas closer to the main tourist spots. Sunset views from there could be spectacular. Good luck with your sunrise hunt! Let me know if you find any other gems... I'm always on the lookout for new spots in @Hongkong myself.

That's awesome, thanks! I hadn't even considered the area around the old ferry piers. Sounds much less touristy which is perfect. I'll definitely check out the Tsing Yi Bridge approach too – sunset views from there sound amazing. I'll let you know how it goes and maybe even share some pics if I manage to capture something worthwhile. Appreciate the tips!
