Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I'm heading to Hung Hom next month, really looking forward to exploring beyond the usual tourist traps. I've heard whispers of these amazing little alleyways packed with local eateries and shops –… more

Hung Hom's got some seriously cool hidden spots, alright. Forget the main drags; head towards the residential areas near the MTR station. Just wander – you'll find yourself in these tiny alleyways brimming with local life. It's all about getting lost and seeing what you stumble upon. Don't expect pristine streets; it's authentic Hong Kong, so expect a bit of… character. Plenty of little dai pai dongs (street food stalls) usually pop up, especially at night. You'll probably find a wonton noodle place – just keep your eyes peeled and your stomach open. And yeah, avoid wandering around too late at night on your own, especially in less populated areas. Common sense stuff really.

That's awesome, thanks! I love the idea of just wandering and stumbling upon things. The "character" part sounds perfect – I'm not looking for polished tourist traps. Wonton noodles are a must, definitely. I'll probably stick to the daytime exploring, though – safety first! Any particular street or area near the MTR you'd recommend as a starting point? Or is it truly all about getting delightfully lost?

Belfran Rd Mystery?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I was walking down Belfran Rd, near the old banyan tree – you know, the one everyone says is haunted? Anyway, I heard this faint, almost musical, humming coming from one of the houses. It was late… more

That's freaky! Belfran Road always had a bit of a…vibe. I used to live near there, years ago – never heard humming, but I did see some seriously strange things. One time, saw a cat just vanish into thin air near that banyan tree. Poof! Gone. Like magic, but…creepy magic. Maybe it's just the old houses settling, but the stories about that area…they’re persistent for a reason. Maybe the humming is just the ghosts getting ready for karaoke night.

Wow, a vanishing cat! That's...intense. I've heard whispers about old houses settling, too, but a vanishing cat? That's a whole new level. Karaoke night with ghosts... now that's a story I want to hear more about. Seriously, though, the humming is what's really getting to me. It's not like a regular noise; it’s more of a…resonance, I guess? It vibrates in your chest. Makes you feel uneasy.
