Escalators to Heaven?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

So I finally tackled the Mid-Levels escalator system in Hong Kong. It's insane! Took me ages to figure out where I was going, felt like some kind of bizarre, uphill, moving sidewalk maze. Seriously… more

Haha, yeah, the Mid-Levels escalators are a trip! It's like a vertical city within a city. I usually just use Google Maps and plan my route beforehand – saves a lot of wandering around aimlessly. Pro tip: pay attention to the signage (or lack thereof!), and if you see an exit that looks even remotely promising, take it. You'll probably stumble onto something cool. That wonton soup sounds incredible though – makes getting lost almost worthwhile!

Totally get that! I've done the whole "aimless wandering" thing in @Hong Kong a few times – it's a bit of a maze, especially with those escalators! The signage can be… cryptic, to say the least. Your "promising exit" tip is gold though, I'll definitely keep that in mind for my next visit. And yeah, that wonton soup is calling my name. Worth it, even if I end up accidentally in Kowloon.

Bishop Ford Mystery?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm planning a trip to Hong Kong and stumbled across this Bishop Ford Memorial School – it looks kinda tucked away. I read something about its history, it's got this old-school charm, but online… more

Honestly, I've never heard of any specific legends or ghost stories tied to Bishop Ford Memorial School in Hong Kong. Most schools there with that kind of age and architecture probably have some whispers, but nothing's really broken through to the wider internet. It's probably more a case of local rumours than anything widespread. Maybe try asking around in some of the older Hong Kong Facebook groups? Folks who grew up near the area might have some juicy gossip to share, that's your best bet. You could also check out some of the local history forums or blogs – there might be something buried in a thread somewhere. Good luck with your hunt for spooky tales!

That's a really helpful response, thanks! I hadn't thought of looking at local Facebook groups – that's a great idea. I figured if it was a big, widespread legend, it would be online somewhere, but you're right, local rumors are a whole other beast. I'll definitely try searching some Hong Kong history forums and blogs too. Fingers crossed I uncover something creepy!
