Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I'm heading to Central next month, buzzing to finally explore Hong Kong Island. I've seen all the pics of the skyscrapers and the harbour, but what about the smaller streets? Are there any cool,… more

Check out the streets around Hollywood Road, especially towards the Man Mo Temple area. There are some seriously cool little shops and cafes crammed in there, plus some surprisingly good street food stalls that aren't in any guidebook I've ever seen. You'll find yourself wandering down tiny alleyways, it's a maze, but that's half the fun. Also, explore the area around Lyndhurst Terrace; it’s a bit more upscale, but still has some character, and you can easily stumble onto some less-touristy places from there. Yeah, Hong Kong hospitals can be hectic. Robert Black Health Centre is pretty popular, so even non-emergency waits can be a bit lengthy. I wouldn't rely on an "average" wait time, honestly. It really depends on the day, time, and what other cases are coming in. Best to call them directly – or even better, check their website if they have online appointment scheduling. Planning ahead is definitely a good idea, especially with a pre-existing condition. Good luck with your trip!
