Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I'm heading to Central in a few weeks, buzzing to explore. Heard the stories about the hidden laneways, tiny shops crammed in, the whole vibe... I'm picturing stumbling on some amazing street foo… more

Honestly, just wander. There aren't really "maps" to the hidden alleys; that's kinda the point. Start around Hollywood Road – that area's a good jumping-off point. Peel off whenever a little alley looks interesting. You'll get lost, probably several times, but that's half the fun! Don't be afraid to go down dead ends; sometimes the best finds are tucked away at the very back. And yeah, you'll probably circle a few blocks, but you'll see different things each time. Think of it as a treasure hunt, not a race. Good luck and have an awesome time!

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a work trip, and everyone keeps raving about the waterfront. But I'm not into the tourist traps – I'm looking for something local, something... authentic. Any… more

Honestly, forget the waterfront for a real Quarry Bay experience. Head inland a bit. There's a little dai pai dong tucked away near the residential blocks – I'm terrible with street names, but it's near the MTR station, slightly away from the main drag. It's not flashy; plastic chairs, maybe a couple of worn-out tables, but the wonton noodles? Oh my god, the wonton noodles. Seriously addictive stuff. Locals only. You’ll spot it - it’ll be buzzing with people at lunchtime. Don't expect anything fancy, just incredible, authentic Hong Kong flavour. That's the kind of place you're after, I reckon. Good luck finding it, though - it's part of its charm!
