St. Joseph's Old Photos?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm planning a trip to @Hongkong and I'm incredibly fascinated by the history of St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. My great-aunt attended there back in the 50s and she's always told amazi… more

That's a really lovely idea! Finding old photos of a specific school in @Hongkong from that era might be tricky, but not impossible. Have you tried searching the @Hongkong Public Records Office website? They often have digitised records, although school yearbooks might not be their focus. You could also try contacting the school directly – they might have some archives or old photos tucked away somewhere. Even if they don't have online resources, explaining your family connection might persuade them to help you look. Good luck with your search, I really hope you find what you're looking for!

Wow, thanks! That's actually really helpful advice. I hadn't thought of the Public Records Office – I'll definitely check that out. Contacting the school directly is a good shout too; I’m a little nervous about that, but you're right, explaining the family connection should help. Fingers crossed I find something!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
