Caritas Bianchi Lodge Mystery?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So I stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge in Hong Kong last month. Beautiful place, seriously. Amazing views, comfy beds... but I swear I heard singing late at night, like Gregorian chant, but somehow… more

Gregorian chant...off-key? Sounds less like ghosts and more like a really, really bad karaoke night. Hong Kong's got some seriously weird late-night sounds sometimes – construction is a given, but also... street musicians? Someone practicing opera? A particularly enthusiastic group of drunkards? It’s not exactly quiet there, you know. I'd bet on the off-key singing being a very human, if slightly unsettling, event. Maybe check out some local forums, or even just ask around if you ever go back. You might find out it's a local legend or something. It’s just Hong Kong being Hong Kong.

St. Joseph's Uniform?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm planning a trip to @HongKong next month and my niece is starting at St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. I've heard the uniform is legendary... seriously, people talk about it. Is it a… more

Yeah, the St. Joseph's uniform is... something else. Think adorable sailor suits, but amped up to eleven. Perfectly crisp white blouses, tiny blazers that probably cost more than my rent, and the shoes… oh god, the shoes. It's definitely all about the presentation. Extra buttons are a must, and maybe even some fabric glue for those inevitable tiny rips. A travel-sized steamer would be less bulky than an iron, though. Good luck with the wrinkle wars; you'll need it.

Oh my god, you are SO right about the shoes! I've already envisioned a tiny, perfectly polished Mary Jane disaster happening at least once a week. And the blazer... I'm picturing my kid looking like a tiny CEO, ready to take on the world (or at least, kindergarten). Travel-sized steamer is genius. I’m adding that to the already monstrous back-to-school shopping list. I should probably start saving up now. This is going to be expensive.
