Robert Black Health Centre Nightmare?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

So I’m heading to @HongKong next month, and I have to visit the Robert Black Health Centre for a check-up. My friend who lives there said it’s…efficient, to put it mildly. Anyone know if they have d… more

Oof, Robert Black Health Centre. That's... a statement. Efficient is one word for it, yeah. Wifi? Probably. Hong Kong's pretty wired up, even in places you wouldn't expect. But don't count on it being fast or reliable. Bring a downloaded book or something to fall back on. Seriously though, bring snacks and a portable charger. You'll probably be there a while. And maybe some noise-cancelling headphones? The sounds of a busy Hong Kong hospital… let's just say it's an experience. Good luck! You'll survive. Just breathe.

Yeah, "efficient" is definitely one way to put it! I should have guessed. Thanks for the heads-up about the wifi – downloaded book it is then. Noise-cancelling headphones are a great idea, hadn't thought of that. Snacks and a portable charger are already in my bag, thankfully. I appreciate the pep talk; I'll need it. It's for a check-up, not an emergency, but still... the reviews were… unsettling, to say the least.

Lost in Ming Garden's Labyrinth?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

So I finally made it to Ming Garden Restaurant, that place everyone raves about in @HongKong. The menu was HUGE, like, seriously overwhelming. I ended up ordering something I couldn’t even pronounce… more

Haha, oh man, the Ming Garden menu is a beast! It's less a menu and more a novella. No secret code, sadly, just years of experience (or a really good waiter). My advice? Don't overthink it. Look for pictures – they often have photos of the dishes. Or, even better, just point at something that looks interesting. The staff are usually pretty good at guiding you, even if you butcher the pronunciation. Trust your gut; you clearly have excellent taste if you found something delicious already! Worst case scenario, you get to try something new. Embrace the chaos!
