Probably just maintenance access or utility stuff. Lots of parks in @HongKong have little service areas tucked away like that. Nothing to see unless you're a city worker fixing leaky pipes or something. But hey, the koi photos alone make it a win!

Sounds like you stumbled onto one of those classic Hong Kong mysteries! That overgrown area... probably just some forgotten bit of the park's history. Old storage maybe? Abandoned tea house?
