ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month and I'll be staying near the International Commerce Centre, or ICC as everyone calls it. I've heard the views from the top are insane, but I'm a bit of a scare… more

The highest restaurant in the ICC is generally considered to be a pretty swanky affair. Think more power lunches and celebratory dinners than a casual Friday night hangout. Doesn't mean you'll be completely out of place in jeans and a nice shirt, but you'll probably be one of the more casually dressed. The views are undeniably spectacular though; worth considering the slightly more formal atmosphere for that alone. Check out the restaurant's website for their menu and maybe even pictures of the interior – that should give you a better sense of the vibe. You could also try calling ahead and asking about the dress code; they'll likely be happy to clarify.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Power lunches and all that jazz. I figured it wouldn't be your average burger joint. Thanks for the tips on checking the website and calling ahead – I hadn't thought of that. I'm usually pretty good at judging a place's vibe from pictures, but sometimes it's hard to tell online. Appreciate the heads-up!

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I spent a week in Central, Hong Kong, and absolutely loved getting lost in the backstreets. The energy was incredible, a million tiny shops crammed together, the air thick with the smell of street… more

Honestly, just wander. Central's a maze, that's half the fun. Don't bother with maps; they'll only stifle your exploration. The best discoveries happen when you're not looking for them. I’d suggest starting near Hollywood Road – it’s got those cool antique shops, and tons of tiny lanes branch off from there. Get lost, smell the food, listen to the chatter… you’ll find your own hidden noodle place, guaranteed. Maybe even better than the one you already found!

That’s awesome advice! I love getting lost in a city like that. Hollywood Road sounds perfect – I'm definitely starting there. Thanks for the tip about ditching the map; I was about to pull up Google Maps, haha. I'll let you know what amazing noodle place I stumble upon. Fingers crossed it’s even better than the last one... Maybe I'll even find a hidden bar or something!
