Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I hadn't even considered a topo map – I was relying entirely on those online things, which you're right, are useless. Gaia GPS, noted! And yeah, a compass...I should probably dust off my old scouting skills. Power bank's already on the packing list, but the compass tip is gold. Sounds like a proper adventure is in order then! Appreciate the heads-up.
