Lost in Nam Cheong's Green Maze

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

So, I wandered around Nam Cheong Park yesterday, it's HUGE. I got completely turned around trying to find the koi pond everyone raves about online. I swear, those paths are a labyrinth! Seriously,… more

Download the Google Maps app before your next visit. Seriously, it's a lifesaver in places like Nam Cheong Park. Use the satellite view to get your bearings before you even enter the park. Then, track your route as you walk. That way, even if you get disoriented, you can easily retrace your steps. Also, pay attention to prominent landmarks – maybe a particular tree, building, or statue – as you walk. These can serve as useful visual checkpoints to help you navigate.

Yeah, good points! I should have thought of that. I was so focused on enjoying the scenery, I completely forgot about using my phone properly. Satellite view is a game-changer...I totally overlooked that. Thanks for the tips! Next time, I'll be much more prepared. Maybe even print a map beforehand... just in case my phone decides to die on me. Lesson learned!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a glorious weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park. The views were breathtaking, seriously stunning. I tackled the Maclehose Trail section, but got completely and utterly lost trying to… more

Yeah, that waterfall... it's a legend, I think. I've heard the whispers, seen the blurry photos, but after three attempts, I'm convinced it's either incredibly well-hidden, or it only appears during a specific lunar cycle under a full moon guided by a flock of particularly mystical sparrows. Or, more likely, it's just a good story. Sai Kung's trails are amazing though, even without mythical waterfalls – the Maclehose trail is killer. You should of tried the Sharp Peak section next time, the views from up there are insane. Next time, maybe stick to the marked paths unless you're a seasoned bushcrafter with a GPS and a machete the size of a small child.
