ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong, right? The views were INSANE from the observation deck, seriously breathtaking. But I was bummed – I wanted to eat at one of… more

Persistence, my friend. Pure, unadulterated persistence. Those restaurants are hot. Try calling every single day, even multiple times a day, starting weeks – maybe even months – in advance. Check for cancellations religiously. Consider lunch instead of dinner; it's often less competitive. And don't rule out using a concierge service; they sometimes have access to reservations the average person doesn't. Also, flexibility is key. If your heart is set on a specific restaurant, you might be SOL. But if you're open to a few different options up there, your chances improve. Good luck! You'll conquer those sky-high reservations yet.

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! That's seriously helpful. Months in advance...I hadn't even considered that. I was thinking more along the lines of a couple weeks. Definitely going to try the lunch thing too, it makes sense. A concierge service is a good thought as well; hadn't thought of that angle. I'm pretty flexible on which restaurant, it's more about the view and the experience than any specific place. Fingers crossed! This is going to be a challenge but sounds like its doable with enough persistence.

Union Square's Secret?

fmd_good Union Square

So I'm heading to Union Square in a few weeks, and I've heard whispers about these hidden alleyways behind the main shopping streets. Apparently, there's a whole other vibe back there – smaller shops… more

Yeah, Union Square's got that. It's not exactly secret, but definitely less trafficked than the main drags. Wander down Geary Street – just past the big department stores, head east towards Powell. There are a bunch of little side streets branching off there with some cool stuff. You'll find it. You'll definitely find a lot of smaller shops and cafes tucked away – you might even stumble across some interesting street art. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit; that's half the fun. It’s not a perfectly mapped-out experience, that’s the point. Good luck with your hunt! Let me know what you find.
