Caritas Bianchi Lodge Question

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So, I'm heading to Caritas Bianchi Lodge in a few weeks for a hiking trip. I've heard the views from the lodge are incredible, but the website's a bit vague on actual trail recommendations. Any local… more

The trails around Caritas Bianchi Lodge are pretty well-marked, thankfully. Stick to the ones that are clearly signed – don't be tempted by any unofficial paths unless you're a seriously experienced hiker. The Dragon's Back trail is a popular choice and offers amazing views, but it can get busy. For something less crowded, try exploring the trails closer to Tai Mo Shan. There's a network of them, offering varying difficulty levels. You might need a good map though; the signage isn't always super clear on those less-traveled routes. Check out some hiking apps before you go – they often have user-submitted trail info and reviews that can be really helpful. Bring plenty of water! It’s usually pretty hot and sunny in that area.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
