Kam Store's Weirdest Find?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I'm in @HongKong, right? Needed some weird snack fix, stumbled into this Kam Store. It's HUGE. Like, seriously labyrinthine. I spent an hour just getting lost in the aisles of dried seafood and m… more

One time, I swear, I found a jar of something labeled "Century Egg Marmalade." I still have nightmares. Another friend scored a bag of what looked like fossilized ginger – it was rock hard, but apparently, you could soak it and it would become edible. He didn't. The sheer volume of stuff in that place is insane; it's like they just keep buying things and throwing them on shelves without any organization whatsoever. I wouldn't be surprised if someone unearthed a Ming Dynasty vase hiding behind a stack of dubious instant noodles one day.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
