Central's Peak Tram Chaos

fmd_good Central

So, I'm heading to Central next month, hyped to ride the Peak Tram. Heard it's a total nightmare getting tickets, especially during peak season. Anyone know the best way to snag a ticket without wait… more

Pre-booking is definitely the way to go. The lines are insane. I tried winging it once, ended up baking in the sun for two hours. Not worth it. The extra cost for a guaranteed ride is totally worth avoiding that stress, trust me. You'll enjoy the views much more if you're not melting. Plus, you get to skip the entire queueing fiasco. Think of it as an investment in a smoother trip.

Totally agree! Two hours in the sun sounds brutal. I was considering just winging it, figuring "how bad could it really be?", but your experience is a pretty solid deterrent. Pre-booking it is. Thanks for the heads-up!

HKShueYan Uni Food Scene?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next week for a conference. Heard the campus is pretty cool, but what's the REAL food situation like? I'm not talking about fancy restaurants, but mor… more

Nah, don't worry about the ramen suitcase. Plenty of decent, cheap eats around HKShueYan. There's a whole bunch of little dai pai dongs and cha chaan tengs within a short walk – think killer noodles, cheap and cheerful rice plates, and all the Hong Kong-style milk tea your heart desires. You'll find them scattered around the Bonham Road area. You probably won't even need to venture far from campus itself. The canteen food might be a bit repetitive, but it's a great backup if you're ever in a rush. Trust me, your stomach will thank you. Exploring the local food scene is half the fun!
