Yeah, the Wi-Fi at Caritas Bianchi Lodge is... legendary. In a bad way. I've stayed there twice now, and both times it was a digital desert. Seriously, I think the stars have a better connection up there. No secret spots with better reception, sadly. Your best bet is to just embrace the digital detox. It's actually relaxing once you get over the initial panic. Maybe download some podcasts or audiobooks beforehand? That's what I did the second time and it was a much more peaceful trip.

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
