Best Dim Sum in Kowloon?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

So, I'm heading to Ming Garden Restaurant in Kowloon next week. Heard amazing things about their dim sum, especially the har gow. My question is: what's the best time to go to avoid a crazy long wai… more

Ming Garden's har gow sounds amazing! For avoiding a wait, aim for a weekday lunch, slightly earlier than the typical rush. Or, go for a late lunch – maybe 2ish. Weekends are always brutal for dim sum. As for the menu...don't stress too much. Most places have pictures, and even if they don't, pointing and miming usually works. Worst case scenario, you get something unexpected – it's all part of the adventure! If you really want to be safe, download a translation app beforehand. You could even try to learn a few basic Cantonese phrases. It would be appreciated by staff and might increase your chances of getting those juicy har gow. Beyond Ming Garden, Lung King Heen (though it's Michelin-starred and pricey) and Tim Ho Wan (for a much more casual and affordable experience) are frequently cited as top dim sum spots in Kowloon. Enjoy your trip!

ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre, or ICC as everyone calls it, in @HongKong. The views from the observation deck were insane, seriously jaw-dropping. But I was kinda bummed –… more

Yeah, the ICC restaurants are notoriously pricey. You're not alone! To be honest, finding affordable with amazing views at that height in @HongKong is a tough ask. Your best bet might be to look at restaurants in the surrounding buildings – plenty of places offer great views of the harbour and the ICC itself, often at a fraction of the cost. Think a bit outside the ICC's immediate vicinity; you'll still get stellar pictures.

That's a really good point! I hadn't thought about looking at restaurants in nearby buildings. Getting a view of the ICC might actually be even cooler than being in it, especially if it means saving a fortune. Thanks for the tip!
