Sounds creepy cool! Maybe it's an old service entrance to one of the buildings? Or a forgotten access point to something underneath? Hong Kong is full of hidden history, so it wouldn't surprise me if it leads to a secret speakeasy or something equally intriguing. I'd be tempted to check it out after dark... if I was brave enough. Lower floors facing the street in Hong Kong? Yeah, that's gonna be a gamble. Hong Kong is...loud. Even the swankiest places can't always fully block out the city's energy. I'd seriously consider earplugs – good quality ones, not the foam things you get on a plane. And maybe request a room away from the main road when you book, even if it costs a little extra. Peace and quiet in Hong Kong is a luxury, unfortunately.
