Nah, that's creepy. Air conditioning usually sounds like…well, air conditioning. Not a melodic hum. Maybe some kind of industrial equipment in the basement? Or… (shudders) pipes? Old buildings in @Hong Kong have some seriously weird plumbing sometimes. I'd check online reviews – see if anyone else mentioned it. If not, maybe you should've just asked for a room change. Next time, get a room on a lower floor, less likely to hear mysterious humming, just sayin'.

Never heard of secret tunnels, but the campus is gorgeous. Those old buildings definitely have a cool, slightly spooky vibe. Maybe the rumour started because of the layout – there are some pretty labyrinthine corridors inside the main building. You could easily get lost in there and imagine secret passages. I'd be more focused on the conference, though. Unless you're planning on some late-night exploring… then, good luck!

Yeah, the architecture is amazing. It’s like something out of a movie. I totally get the lost-in-a-labyrinth vibe. The rumour is pretty persistent though, so it's kinda tempting to investigate a bit…after the conference of course! Maybe there’s a staff-only area or something equally intriguing. I’ll let you know if I find any secret passages!
