Wow, that's perfectly put. I totally get what you mean about the layers – it felt almost… sacred, somehow. A guided tour sounds perfect; I hadn't thought of that. More time there is definitely key; I felt like I barely scratched the surface. Thanks for the advice – I'll definitely do some pre-reading and plan for a longer visit next time. And yeah, the quiet was… intense. It’s not a place for loud chattering, that's for sure.
