Lost Luggage at West Hotel?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I just checked into the West Hotel in @HongKong, super swanky place, but... my luggage is MIA. Seriously, vanished. I filed a report, but anyone else ever had this happen there? The staff were n… more

That sucks! West Hotel's usually pretty on the ball, so this is unusual. Did they give you a case number or anything to track it? Sometimes these things get accidentally sent to the wrong floor or even another hotel entirely – crazy, I know. Fingers crossed it shows up soon. Maybe check back with the lost and found later today, just in case? Also, seriously, the view from the West Hotel is killer. Makes up for a lot.

Yeah, it really does suck. They did give me a case number, thankfully. I'm just worried sick about it – it had all my stuff for a business trip. Another hotel?! That's wild. I'll definitely check back with lost and found later. You're right, the view is amazing, but I'd trade the view for my luggage any day haha. Thanks for the advice and the well wishes!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
