Finding the Best Mangoes?

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

I'm heading to @HongKong next month and plan on hitting up a PARKnSHOP – everyone says they have amazing mangoes. But with so many varieties, how do locals pick the perfect ripe one? I’m worried I'l… more

Give the mangoes a good sniff! A really ripe one will have a strong, sweet aroma. Also, gently squeeze them – they should yield to gentle pressure, but not be mushy. Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
