Hong Kong's Belfran Road Mystery

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I'm walking down Belfran Road, right? Near the end, by those old banyan trees, I saw this crazy thing – a tiny, perfectly crafted wooden birdhouse, just hanging there, no visible string or support… more

That's wild! Belfran Road has always had a bit of a... quirky vibe. I've lived near there for years and heard whispers of strange things happening, nothing quite like that though. Maybe some sort of elaborate prank by an incredibly talented artist? Or maybe it was a kid's project, and they're just really good at hiding. Have you tried checking local Facebook groups or even Nextdoor? Someone might've posted about it or know something. You could also check out some of the older folks in the area – they probably have some interesting stories about the road. Could be an old wives' tale waiting to be unearthed! Keep us updated if you find anything out.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
