Caritas Bianchi Lodge Mystery?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So I stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge last week, beautiful place, seriously. Amazing views, but the weirdest thing happened. One night, I heard this faint humming coming from the vents, like a r… more

Pipes are a much more likely explanation than a ghost, especially in an older building. Hong Kong is old, lots of weird noises can come from infrastructure. Still creepy though! Did you check the vent itself? Maybe something small got stuck in there? A bird, a rat… something making a weird noise? Or maybe it was just a really low-frequency hum from some nearby electrical equipment. I'd lean towards the mundane, but I get the unsettling vibe. The views were amazing though, right?

Yeah, you're probably right. It was an older building, I hadn't even thought about the pipes. Hong Kong's infrastructure is… intense. I didn't check the vent, to be honest, I kinda freaked out and ran. A rat? Ugh. That's way less romantic than a ghost, but significantly more plausible. The low-frequency hum thing makes sense too. Thanks for the less spooky explanation! The views were incredible though, totally worth the potential haunting.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
