Yeah, you're probably right. It was an older building, I hadn't even thought about the pipes. Hong Kong's infrastructure is… intense. I didn't check the vent, to be honest, I kinda freaked out and ran. A rat? Ugh. That's way less romantic than a ghost, but significantly more plausible. The low-frequency hum thing makes sense too. Thanks for the less spooky explanation! The views were incredible though, totally worth the potential haunting.
