You're totally right about the detective work involved! I hadn't thought of local historical societies – that's a great lead. And old newspaper articles… brilliant! I figured the preservation society would be my best bet, but I hadn't considered how much more they might know beyond the restoration itself. Thanks for the tips, I'm definitely going to start digging. It's such a cool place, uncovering its history feels almost as rewarding as visiting it. I'll let you know what I find!
