Sai Kung's Hidden Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

So, I'm planning a hike in Sai Kung East Country Park next month. I've seen photos of stunning coastal views, but I'm a bit worried about getting lost – the trails seem pretty extensive. Anyone know… more

Yeah, Sai Kung's amazing for hiking! Forget the main trails – they're packed. Head towards Sharp Island; the views from there are insane. It's a bit of a trek, but you'll find less crowded paths heading that way, and the coastline is incredible. You'll probably want a good offline map though, AllTrails works pretty well, but download the map before you go because the signal is spotty at best. And definitely pack water – plenty of it! Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
