Yeah, "mature" buildings is one way to put it! I thought I was losing it. Flickering lights and random opera singing... not exactly what I'd expect from a five-star hotel, even a historic one. The staff were super nice, though, almost too nice... like they were trying a little too hard to distract from something. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but the whole place had a seriously strange energy. Glad I'm not the only one who felt it.
