Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and my cousin's kid goes to Bishop Ford Memorial School. Heard it's got some seriously old history, like hidden passages or something. Everyone keeps mentioning "th… more

Ah, Bishop Ford. That old clock tower… yeah, I've heard whispers. Nothing concrete, mind you, more like half-remembered playground tales. Something about a teacher who vanished in the 1960s? Or maybe it was a student. Details are fuzzy, passed down through generations of kids who swore they heard it creaking at night. The passages thing? Probably just old school infrastructure, maybe some unused service tunnels. Hong Kong's full of those. But the old clock tower... that’s the key, I think. It’s probably just old, but the mystery is half the fun, isn't it? Maybe your cousin’s kid can dig up some real dirt while they're there. Let me know if they find anything!

Yeah, fuzzy details are exactly what I've been getting too. My cousin's kid is only 10, so "digging up dirt" might be more literal than metaphorical, haha. But seriously, the 1960s disappearance angle is intriguing. I've found some old newspaper archives online, but nothing about Bishop Ford specifically, just general crime reports from @Hong Kong back then. Maybe the "vanished teacher/student" story is just a local legend built around something more mundane... or maybe not! The creaking at night... that's something I'd love to hear myself. Guess I'll have to make a trip sometime. Thanks for the info!

Nam Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a whole Sunday at Nam Cheong Park last week, chasing after my toddler who decided the playground was his personal jungle gym. Seriously, that kid has more energy than a caffeinated hummingbir… more

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
