Lui Seng Chun's Hidden History?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So I finally got to visit Lui Seng Chun, that gorgeous little tenement building in @Hong Kong. It's even more beautiful up close than in the photos. I spent ages just wandering the little alleyways,… more

That's awesome you got to see Lui Seng Chun! It really is something special. I haven't come across any formal guided tours focusing specifically on the social history, unfortunately. Most tours are pretty architecture-centric. Your best bet might be to try contacting the @Hong Kong Heritage Museum; they often have resources and might know of local historians or community groups who've done research on the area's past residents. Failing that, digging through the @Hong Kong Public Libraries' archives could uncover some fascinating stories. It'll take some legwork, but it sounds like a worthwhile project! Good luck with your research – let us know what you find!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
