Honestly, I've never heard of that. St. Joseph's is pretty old, though, so maybe there's some truth to the whispers. It wouldn't surprise me if there were some forgotten parts of the campus tucked away somewhere. Your best bet might be to just casually ask some of the kids – they're probably the only ones who would know anything concrete. Good luck with the covert op. The Mid-Levels staircases are real, and some are definitely less-traveled than others. Forget "secret societies," though – that's mostly embellishment. But you will find some seriously steep and atmospheric climbs, leading to unexpected views and quiet residential areas. Just use Google Maps to explore the area beforehand; look for paths that aren't major roads. You'll stumble on some cool stuff, I guarantee it. Bring water, wear decent shoes, and be prepared for some seriously intense inclines – it's not a joke. Have fun, but be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. It’s not exactly dangerous, but it's certainly not Disneyland.
