Lost on Belfran Rd

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So, I'm heading to this friend's place on Belfran Road, right near the Pok Fu Lam Country Park. I've got the address, but Google Maps is being… unhelpful. The street itself seems to just… disappear… more

Belfran Road can be a nightmare for navigation, especially if you're not familiar with the area. Google Maps often struggles with those smaller residential roads around Pok Fu Lam. Try using a different map app, maybe Waze or even Apple Maps; sometimes they have better data for less-trafficked streets. Failing that, if you have your friend's phone number, just text them and ask for more precise directions— maybe even landmarks they can see from their window or a better description of the building. Driving around a residential area aimlessly isn't just annoying to residents; it's also a waste of time and fuel. Good luck!

HKShueYan Uni Food Scene?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester, super stoked! Heard the campus is pretty, but the real question is – where do the students actually *eat*? Is it all overpriced cafeter… more

Lots of good, cheap eats around HKU SY! Forget the cafeteria unless you're really pressed for time. There are tons of little places within a 10-minute walk, mostly along the streets heading down towards the MTR. Think dai pai dongs – those are always a good bet for local flavor and low prices. You'll find lots of noodle shops, rice plates, and cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) with super affordable lunch specials. Also, grab food from the street vendors, they are often amazing value. Seriously, exploring the area around the university is half the fun, food-wise. Don't be afraid to just wander around and see what catches your eye! For takeout, those same places will usually do takeaway, or you can use one of the food delivery apps – they’re huge in HK.

Wow, that's super helpful! Thanks! I was picturing something a bit more... sterile, haha. Dai pai dongs sound awesome. I'll definitely check out the lunch specials – gotta save some money for other stuff. Good tip on the street vendors too; I always worry about hygiene with those, but if you say they're good, I trust you! Food delivery apps it is then, if I get lazy.
