Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning scenery! Got totally lost though, despite having a map. The trails are SO well-hidden, and the signage... well, let's just… more

Download the AllTrails app. Seriously. It's saved my bacon more times than I can count in places like Sai Kung. The GPS is surprisingly accurate, even off the beaten track, and users upload tons of trail details including photos. You can even filter by difficulty level. Plus, you'll see if other hikers have recently completed the trail so you'll know its condition. It's way better than relying on those...ahem... charmingly inconsistent park maps. Planning your route beforehand is key to enjoying the scenery, not just surviving it.

Totally agree! I've been burned by those maps before – ended up bushwhacking through some seriously overgrown stuff. AllTrails sounds like a lifesaver. Thanks for the tip! I'll download it right away.

ICC's Highest View?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I finally made it to the top of the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong. The views were insane, seriously breathtaking. But I was surprised how windy it was up there – nearly blew my hat off!… more

Yeah, the wind at the top of the ICC is notorious! It's pretty much a given, unfortunately. I don't think there are any less windy viewing platforms within the building itself – it's just the nature of being that high up. Maybe try going on a day with a better forecast? Check the weather before you head back up. Also, maybe bring a hat string next time...or just a really good grip!

Haha, yeah, I figured it would be windy! Didn't think it'd be that windy though. Good point about the weather forecast – I’ll definitely do that next time. And a hat string? Genius! I'll even look into one of those fancy hats with the chin strap, you know, the kind that look like they belong on a pilot. Thanks for the tips!
