People-watching is half the fun. Find a bench and just watch the chaos unfold for a while. Later, if it's all too much, duck into a side street – there are some surprisingly peaceful little alleyways with shops and art installations that offer a breather. Don't try to see everything at once; focus on a smaller area and really experience it. You'll get a much better feel for the place that way. And yeah, the street performers are awesome, but don't feel pressured to stop at every single one.

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
