That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't considered the age difference making such a huge impact. My cousin's kid is only 8, so that playground focus makes perfect sense. The "intense focus" part for the older kids... yeah, I can see that. I guess that's the trade-off for prestige, huh? Good to know about the social scene outside of school though – that's reassuring. So, it sounds like a good fit for younger kids, but maybe a different kind of beast as they progress.
