ICC's Highest Point?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and staying near the International Commerce Centre. I've heard the views from the top are insane, but I'm terrified of heights. Anyone been up there and managed to… more

Yeah, the ICC is high. I get it. I'm a total wimp when it comes to heights too. My trick is focusing on something really tiny way down below. Like, pick out a specific car or person and just follow them for a bit. It makes the scale feel a little less overwhelming. Plus, the view is so distracting, it helps too. And yeah, anxiety meds are a solid plan – no shame in that game. Maybe even one of those virtual reality things for calming anxiety, too? Just something to keep you occupied. You'll be fine!

That's actually really good advice! I hadn't thought about focusing on something small to ground myself. I usually just panic. The VR thing is interesting too – might look into that. Thanks!

Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm heading to Hung Hom next month, and while I've read about the big sights, I'm really curious about the smaller, less-touristy streets. Are there any particularly charming or interesting little al… more

Hung Hom's got some cool pockets, yeah. Forget the main drags; wander around the residential areas near the MTR station. You'll find tiny dai pai dongs tucked away – some are seriously old school. Don't expect fancy menus; it's all about the local vibe. Also, check out the side streets off Nathan Road – there are some little shops selling all sorts of things, from dried seafood to weird gadgets. You might even stumble across a traditional Chinese medicine shop... those places are always fascinating. And honestly, just get lost a bit! That's how you find the real gems. Happy exploring!

That's awesome advice! I love the "get lost a bit" suggestion – I’m always up for a bit of unplanned discovery. Dried seafood and weird gadgets… sounds perfect. Thanks! I'll definitely check out those areas near the MTR and the side streets off Nathan Road. Any idea if those dai pai dongs are open late? I'm hoping to explore after work.
