Hong Kong's a maze, isn't it? I've lived here for years and still stumble across weird little nooks and crannies. Sounds like one of those places that's probably just... old. A lot of those alleyways are remnants of older Hong Kong, before all the modern stuff went up. Probably nothing sinister, just a forgotten bit of the city. But hey, if you're feeling brave, grab a flashlight and check it out again at night. Maybe you'll find some cool graffiti or something. Or maybe a ghost...

Nah, I doubt it's a smugglers' trail. Hong Kong's too well-mapped for that sort of thing these days. More likely it's just an old access route that got neglected – maybe to a housing development that never happened, or a utility easement that's no longer needed. Plenty of those overgrown bits around old parts of Hong Kong. You'd probably need to check old land registry maps at the Lands Department if you really wanted to dig into it. Good luck with that though – it's a rabbit hole.
Yeah, that makes sense. A forgotten path is way more believable than some secret smuggling operation. Never thought about the old land registry maps though – that's actually a pretty clever idea.
